Weapons of God would like to extend a huge public THANK YOU to Jason Harmon
for filling in on the drums this past summer.
Jason, the bass player for Souls Awakened, reached out to us offering to fill in on the drums while
we were searching for someone to fill the position permanently.
Within two weeks Jason had learned ten songs and was able to play
so that we could meet our summer obligations.
He is a very humble person and didn't want any attention for helping us out but,
we wanted to give credit where credit was due.
Jason, from everyone here at Weapons of God, please accept our heartfelt THANK YOU!

Weapons of God would like to welcome,
Jay Hurt as our new drummer!!
Please.. let's give him a huge shout out and a warm welcome!!
Born and raised in Northern Kentucky, Jay Hurt was introduced to music at a very early age. Coming from a long line of family musicians, it was inevitable that he too would become a musician as well.
“It’s in my blood.” As Jay would say.
At age 5 his dad started teaching him how to play guitar. Jay stuck to it and worked diligently learning everything he could possibly learn on the guitar mostly by ear but with some help from others along the way. His earliest influences were mostly many of his own family members but also many popular acts such as Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly,
Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and The Temptations.
At age 10 and still working hard on guitar, a childhood friend introduced
Jay to the world of drums that would ultimately become a game changer.
The guitar eventually became a secondary instrument because of Jay’s new interest. Playing the drums felt more natural to him and he stayed with it. While with help from other drummers that he knew and learning by ear listening to various popular artists, Jay stumbled upon hard rock music and immediately knew that he wanted to be a drummer in a rock band.
Although he was raised on Motown, Oldies and Classic Country, Jay preferred to listen to groups like Deep Purple,
Kiss, Van Halen, Scorpions, Queensryche and Rush.
Earlier influenced by drummers like Alex Van Halen and Tommy Lee, Jay later became a fan of more progressive style drummers like Neil Peart and Mike Portnoy.
Jay has been a Christian all of his life and has served as a deacon and a musician in several churches throughout the Cincinnati Tri State area. Jay has played with many Contemporary Christian groups and he is also
an accomplished singer and multi-instrumentalist as well.
Most recently Jay had been working with numerous local bands doing bar gigs to keep his “chops” up, all the while still looking for something else. Not satisfied with playing in bar bands and becoming tired and burned out, Jay began a new search that would eventually lead him into a new direction and back on track.
Joining Weapons of God, Jay believes that he has found a new home with a rock solid foundation. Jay hopes that his creativity and talents added to the band will be an inspiration for one and all. But most importantly, he wants to make God proud.

We sure are, this one has been in the planning stages for a couple years now, but the time has come to unveil it. Much like Santa stole Christmas, or the Turkey stole Thanksgiving, we’re stealing Halloween back! Who says you can’t be a Christian and have a little fun?
This Halloween get prepared as Roxx Records brings you this newly compiled masterpiece all mastered together by Rob Colwell of Bombworks Sound, with brand new cover art designed by Ward Silverman, and a killer layout and design by Scott Waters of NoLifeTilMetal Graphics. This once in a lifetime collection of Halloween music comes our way featuring some of our classic old favorites, some brand new music, and three previously unreleased tracks.
This compilation starts off with a very special message from Pastor Bob Beeman and then from there we head right into the metal, starting off with the classic track from Vengeance Rising “I Love Hating Evil” which is very fitting don’t you think?
From there the metal never stops, brand spanking new music from The Brave, AfterWinter (previously unreleased), Ritual Servant (previously unreleased from their forthcoming third limited edition 7”), and a brand new cover song featuring Dale Thompson (Bride) as we finally get to hear him conquer in the studio one of those classic Stryper tunes as he belts out “To Hell With The Devil” with the help of the amazing bay area band Sovereign Cross! In fact, this is the lead-off single for this new compilation, check out “To Hell With The Devil”
This compilation has classic tunes from Bloodgood, Deliverance, Holy Soldier and Bride to name a few. And who remembers the amazing guys from Stryken? How could we not do a Halloween themed compilation without “Crush The Head of Satan”. Also some newer tunes from some of today’s top Christian metal artists like Motivik, Weapons of God and we have to include the mighty GRAVE ROBBER on this one don’t you think? We end the compilation with a killer track from The Migraines featuring Robert Sweet (Stryper) on drums with their classic track “I Hate Evil”
Lots of killer Christian metal to pull out every Fall season for many Halloweens to come! This compilation also comes housed in a jewel case with a FULL 16 page booklet! It is with a sad heart that we at Weapons of God have to announce that we will not be able to make it to the Chains Unchained Festival this year.
With the double increase in gas prices, etc... we had to regretfully bow out.
We apologize to everyone that looked forward to seeing and praising with us on Friday night, July 29th but encourage everyone to still attend and see the other bands and Rock on for Christ! Look forward to seeing you all soon!
